'Simple but Stunning' card - Lovely Friends

This is the first time I have had all three children in school and though this has been the case since February, it's really only now that I've started to get to enjoy my quiet time and it means I'm actually finding time to craft for no reason at all which is such a nice feeling.

And with all this extra stamp time I actually made a fantastic 'Simple but Stunning' card which I wanted to share with you today.

Lots of new product on display with this card. The gorgeous DSP is from a new range called Delightful Daisy and the paper is absolutely stunning. If you take a peek at my video tutorial below, I did actually show all the paper on there.

I paired the designer series paper with one of our new sentiment stamps called Lovely Friend. This set has heaps of sentiments that pair up with two huge sentiment stamps in the set. It also has coordinating framelit that has a really fun pop-out, 3D banner that jumps out of the middle of the card. I'll have to make a sample and share it with you. It really is going to be lots of fun!!

Can you believe we only have 6 days left of this current annual catalogue and Occasions Catalogue. Time does fly when you're having fun! The retiring list still has lots of goodies and bargains so why don't you pop over and make sure you have everything on your wish list as I would hate for you to miss out on a favourite!!

TGIF #108 Sketch Challenge - Wood Texture DSP

Happy Friday everyone and today I'm stopping in just quickly to share this weeks challenge with the team at TGIF.
This week we have a fun sketch challenge which was perfect for a birthday card for hubby.

I kept my card pretty clean and what I hope, masculine, by using the new Wood Texture Designer Series Paper. I really love these papers and think they make the best backgrounds.

I teamed it up with a little wooden embellishment that I found floating around and of course a gold glimmer heart. Just the right amount of bling!!

Well that really is all for me today, I did say it was a quick post. I'm currently up to my eyeballs in prep for my Biggest Morning Tea that my friend Nic and I are hosting this coming Sunday. It should be amazing, I promise I'll post all about it next week!!

I hope you find sometime this week to check out the TGIF Blog and hopefully have a bit of fun with the sketch!

Missing Mojo Monday - Crafting Forever

"My name is Chloe Evans and it has been 6 months since I last saw my Mojo"

And gosh it's been the longest 6 months ever. I've gotten by so far with using challenges and sketches but not one card I've created recently has come easy. And when I mention this to other crafters they all agree that missing mojo's are on the rise but no one seems to want to talk about it. Well not any more. I am going to be loud and proud about my mojo being MIA. I will not hide from it any more.

So I decide that today I'm going to stop stressing about my missing mojo and just craft. And not just craft but blog about it too. I'm going to blog the good, the bad and the down right ugly.

Monday's will now be known as Missing Mojo Monday or MMM for short and I'm kicking off with this shocker:

Ok so it's probably not the ugliest card I could have come up with, but it's certainly in the Bad category. My colouring is messing and I really had no idea which colours to use so just randomly picked them. Oh and can you see how wonky my sentiment is. I really did eye-ball that one!!

But the one thing I did like was the twine that looks like it's wrapped around the jar. Oh and my bow looks pretty tidy.

So there you go. My first MMM under my belt and you know what, I feel pleased with my crafting effort and think this might be the start of something beautifully. Let's all be proud of what we create... even the Ugly!!

Just Add Ink #359 Inspirations Challenge - Just Add Text

Cheers to another Friday and here's to my official week on the DT for the Just Add Ink crew. This weeks inspirational photo is fabulous. I bet your guys are going to go crazy over this one:

I actually didn't go down the flower avenue, which I'm sure lots of you will. I was a bit caught up on the leafy looking petals and the colours and that's exactly what stands out in my card.

I've used a few new stamp sets with a few retiring embellishments. I'm still in mourning over blushing bride sequins and so I plan to use them as much as possible. And they are still available so go and grab them while you can!!

I also paired up a new in-colour with an oldie but goodie. I stamped the leave background in our new Berry Burst, which is such a rich, deep colour, that I actually had to stamp it off three times before stamping it all over the background. With this colour you can get about 6 good colours out of it, by stamping off and off and off !! Pairing it with some Blushing Bride embellishments balanced it out beautifully.

So now it's over to you. Will you go down the flower route or will you mix it up and make something out of the box. I for one can't wait to see what you all come up with!!

What Will You Stamp? #115 – Beautiful You

So today's share is on behalf of a few demo friends of mine who are on the What Will You Stamp design team. This weeks challenge is using the Beautiful You stamp set, which seems to have been loved and adored by all... except me.

Now I know what you are thinking. How could I possible not love this set. Well, I think the embellishments are stunning but those faceless ladies give me the creeps. Yep, honestly. But a challenge is suppose to be challenging and so I borrowed the stamps from a friend and had a quper quick play. Here's my design:

I was pretty pleased with the overall look until that is, my 6yr son asked is the lady on the card the Hulk's mum?!?! It took me while before I understood what he meant. Yep maybe I should have been a bit more careful with my ombre brayering as she does in fact have green arms and head. Out of the mouths of babes, right!

But that aside, I can see why everyone loves this stamp set, and the DT's work today are outstanding. Will I be purchasing this set anytime soon... maybe. Guess you'll just have to watch this space.

JAI Just Add Stitching Challenge #358 - Window Shopping

I'm totally enjoying that Friday feeling today and I'm excited to share my card from the JAI crew. Today we had a challenge to Just Add Stitching, which usually would fill me with dread but with the awesome stitched framelits it's now easy peasy.

I finally got to use a stamp set that I won at Onstage back in April!! I know, that's bad isn't it. This set is called Window Shopping and it's a cute little set, with some lovely little sentiments.

I used one of the pattern stamps to make the background, behind my sentiment and then heat embossed my phrase with white embossing powder.

I think Pool Party and Bermuda Bay are my two favorite colours and I will really miss the Bermuda Bay sequin trim. Fingers crossed we see something similar in the Holiday Catalogue.

I really hope you pop over and visit all the other designers cards this week. They have killed it with this challenge and you are bound to come away with heaps of inspiration. But make sure you also find time to join the challenge too, as we love to see you designs.

TGIF Polka Dot Challenge #104 - This Little Piggy

So I have really been trying to hold off using all the new goodies that I got from Onstage and my pre-order, but today's challenge with TGIF made me mix it, old with some of the new... I know, I know. I admit I'm weak willed when it comes to sparkly new crafty goodness!!

This weeks challenge is to add Polka Dots in some way and here is my creation:

Can you spot what's retiring and what might be new???  I knew that the retired large polka dot folder would be the first thing I use on my card and so that's where I started. I also really wanted to use some Blushing Bride glimmer because frankly, I will miss that the most.

The "Hugs" dies is actually a new framelit which comes with two other word shapes, a heart with "lovely" and an oval with "Happy". These new framelits also pair up beautifully with our layering Circles, Ovals and Hearts framelits. I just love how SU thinks of everything regarding coordination.

So what other gorgeous things did I use that are now retiring, sniff sniff. I used one of the Gorgeous Grunge stamps to stamp my Powder Pink background (psst, that's a new incolour) plus added some sparkle with the gold wink of stella, which is also going.

I finished everything off with some sequins behind my "hug" framelit and made it into a shaker card . The sentiment is also from a new stamp set called This Little Piggy, It's such a fun little set and I'm sure you can guess what creature features in it!!!

The retiring list really is selling like crazy and items are flying off the shelves. So please make sure you pop over to my store and check to make sure you have all your Must Have items before they sell out forever:
